ABBL

Founded in 1939, the Association of Banks and Bankers, Luxembourg (ABBL) is the oldest and largest professional association in the Luxembourg financial sector. It represents the majority of regulated banking institutions and financial intermediaries, as well as a wide range of other players in the financial centre.

At the heart of Europe, the ABBL is committed to a Luxembourg financial centre that makes a lasting contribution to the competitiveness of businesses and the prosperity of citizens. Its mission is to promote regulated, innovative and responsible financial services. Drawing on its broad representation, it speaks on behalf of the entire sector at both national and international levels and aims to be a driving force for the financial centre, a source of proposals and an opinion leader on today’s challenges and tomorrow’s trends.

The ABBL works closely with national and European authorities and institutions and maintains a representative office in Brussels to monitor regulatory developments within the European Union.

ABBL

The Luxembourg Banking Association (Association des Banques et Banquiers Luxembourg – ABBL) was founded in 1939 and is the oldest and largest professional association in the financial sector. It represents the majority of financial institutions and regulated financial intermediaries as well as other professions based in Luxembourg, including lawyers, consultants and auditors working in the financial sector.

ACA

The Association of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies (ACA) is dedicated to protecting and pursuing the professional interests of its members, addressing issues in their interest and striving to provide good quality services to consumers. The ACA maintains contacts among insurance companies so that issues relating to their activities can be examined more easily. Another objective is to examine legal, procedural, administrative, technical, economic, financial, social and fiscal issues of interest to the profession.

Chambre de Commerce

As a professional chamber and public institution in which companies from all economic sectors – except crafts and agriculture – are represented, the Chamber of Commerce sees its role in defending the interests of its affiliated Luxembourg companies. Since the Chamber of Commerce’s member companies often pursue conflicting interests, the Chamber of Commerce sees it as its main task to represent and defend the interests of all its affiliated companies. In certain cases, the Chamber of Commerce can also defend the interests of individual sectors of the economy, as long as this does not involve any disadvantages for the other members. Today, the Chamber of Commerce has more than 90,000 member companies, which together account for 75% of the labour market and 80% of GDP. As membership fees are the main source of funding for the Chamber of Commerce, it has extensive financial autonomy.

Chambre des Metiers

The main objectives of the Luxembourg Chamber of Skilled Crafts are to represent the Luxembourg craft sector and to safeguard its interests. The Luxembourg Chamber of Skilled Crafts is the institutional mouthpiece of the approximately 7,300 companies in the food sector, the fashion, health and hygiene sector, the mechanical engineering sector, the construction sector with carcassing and interior finishing, the technical equipment sector, as well as the communication, multimedia, art and various craft activities sector. These sectors employ over 91,000 people and currently have 1,700 apprentices in training. With a share of 22% in the number of companies and 23% in the number of employees, the craft sector represents an important sector of the national economy. It is thus the largest employer in Luxembourg and the sector with the most apprentices.

 

Fédération des Artisans

The Fédération des Artisans is the umbrella organisation of Luxembourg’s craft sector, bringing together 40 professional associations. Together with its members, it defines general craft policy, which it promotes both among its members and to the public.

The Fédération des Artisans provides information and advice, takes over the secretariat of the member organisations, represents the crafts in a wide range of bodies and institutions and supports the affiliated associations in negotiating collective agreements.

 

FEDIL

FEDIL is a multisectoral association of companies representing the industrial, construction and business services sectors. Its main purpose is to defend the professional interests of its members and to analyse all related economic, social and industrial issues.

Horesca

The Fédération Nationale des Hôteliers, Restaurateurs et Cafetiers of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg (Horesca) is the official contact for all government, political, official and private bodies when it comes to representing the interests of businesses in the hotel and restaurant sector. It represents approximately 2,900 businesses in Luxembourg, from the smallest café to the largest hotel. In addition to its representative tasks, Horesca supports its members in solving professional problems and provides them with documents and information on business issues.

Luxembourg Confederation

Luxembourg Confederation is an employers’ organisation founded in 1909, bringing together 24 federations from the Services, Commerce and Transport sectors. Their mission is to represent and support the interests of their members. Their mission is to represent and support the interests of its 1,800 members, acting with complete independence and political neutrality.
