About Us
The Union of Luxembourg Businesses (UEL) represents Luxembourg’s private-sector companies, with the exception of the primary sector.
The UEL works to promote a sustainable and prosperous economy for the country, its residents, and those who work there. It strives to create an economy that is attractive to investors and talent.
Since 2000, the Union of Luxembourg Businesses has represented its founding members: the two employers’ chambers and the six main trade federations. Together, they account for all private-sector jobs in Luxembourg.
Our mission
To fulfill its mission, the UEL leads working groups and facilitates discussions with its member organizations on major cross-sectoral issues. It thus presents joint positions to government authorities and social partners on these issues, which they can then discuss together.
The initiatives developed by the UEL are based on the values of the social market economy, sustainable development, corporate ethics, good governance, and consultation.
In 2007, the UEL founded the INDR, the National Institute for Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility, whose mission is to promote corporate social responsibility (CSR) among national companies so that they contribute to sustainable development.
The UEL aims to ensure the competitiveness and attractiveness of businesses by addressing three key areas of social dialogue, as part of a sustainable development approach (CSR): employment and labor law, taxation, and social security.
